HOUSE: Geometry of Belonging (2025) is an interactive sculpture about community, shelter, and connection. A painted MDF panel holds 108 precision-cut cavities, each containing a 3D-printed, hand-painted house. Arranged in vertical columns, the houses are moved one at a time by participants to form twelve neighbourhoods of nine.
Each gesture creates both presence and absence: the void left behind holds memory, while the new placement reflects becoming. This deliberate, meditative process transforms order into organic compositions, mirroring the evolving nature of belonging. The full spectrum of colours becomes a chromatic map of humanity, symbolizing diverse cultures and experiences. A side table ensures accessibility, allowing all visitors to take part.
The work records participant interactions, culminating in a video presentation. HOUSE is both protest and promise: a response to housing inequity and a hopeful metaphor for inclusive, collective futures.
